THE STORY OF. . . the leader of the only successful slave revolution in history. THE STORY OF. . . this great leaders’ tragic dilemma: To keep allegiance to the France that had broken its promises of “Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity” for all in the motherland, and in the French colonies, (made during the French Revolution) while seeking independent rule and freedom forever for his Black people in the colony of San Domingo.
THE STORY OF. . . a man both politician and revolutionary, fighting a war with two faces: one of secret negotiations with the oppressors, hoping that right would win out, and one of violent military opposition to the oppressors to keep them from reinstating slavery
